WELCOME TO
THE OLYMPIC GARDEN WEBSITE!
Sports enthusiasts and gardeners alike had a say in one aspect of the Olympic Games being held in Great Britain in 2012.
Their vote has helped to shape a legacy to be created for future generations!
A space is to be created within the Olympic Park to symbolise the values of the Olympic Movement and to leave a legacy for future generations to enjoy. This is to be in the form of a garden which demonstrates the unique qualities of Britain’s domestic gardens.
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) organised a competition for amateur garden designers to submit ideas for their vision of the garden.
112 adult entries and 88 entries for those aged 16 years and under were received. These were shortlisted down to just six in each age-group category.
Rachel's garden design was announced as the winning adult entry on 1st December, the under-16 winner was Hannah Clegg.
